Grigory Karasin particiaptes in 25th SPIEF panel session

As a result of today’s trials, the world order will be stronger and become multi-centric and more predictable, the Senator believes.

Chair of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Grigory Karasin took part in a panel session at the 25th St Petersburg International Economic Forum. The theme of his speech was “New realities in the new world: A game without rules?”

“The ‘rules of the game’ must be enforced. The priorities of Russian diplomacy are to uphold the goals and principles in the UN Charter, to protect the honour of Russia on the international arena, and to firmly defend the dignity of our country. We want to be respected. We want to make sure our proposals on strategic security are considered seriously, and not fictitiously. The rules need to remain the same, and we will insist on observing them,” the Senator emphasised.

“Today’s multipolar world is not accepting the dictates of the collective West. The frontal sanctions attack that our country is facing have not left Russia’s partners in the Middle Eastern, Asian-Pacific, African and Latin American countries indifferent,” the head of the Federation Council Committee said.

“There is a lot of interest now in what Russia is doing to increase its level of economic activity and independence in the international arena. The St Petersburg forum clearly proves that Russia continues to confidently defend its sovereignty,” Grigory Karasin said.
