Konstantin Kosachev: The second Russia-Africa Summit should be a qualitatively new step in building relations with African countries

The Deputy Speaker took part in a meeting of the Organising Committee for the preparation and holding of the second Russia-Africa Summit.

Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev took part in a meeting of the Organising Committee for preparing and holding the second Russia-Africa Summit in the Russian Federation in 2023, as well as other events in the Russia-Africa format.

The meeting, chaired by Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov, featured a detailed discussion on the progress made in preparing the summit, the concept of the summit taking into account the initiatives of Russian ministries, agencies and public organisations, as well as the content of events to be held at the summit.

According to Konstantin Kosachev, the participants stressed the special importance of the forthcoming symposium for the development and deepening of Russian-African relations and the need to focus on the economic and humanitarian aspects of the summit.

Konstantin Kosachev noted that the forum should become a qualitatively new step in the establishment of Russian-African relations given the emerging system of international relations.

”In preparation for this important event, it is important to combine the efforts of all interested members of the Russian Organising Committee with the work of the Government of the Russian Federation in determining the main areas of cooperation with the African countries,“ Konstantin Kosachev stressed.
