ADDRESS
OF THE FEDERATION COUNCIL
OF THE FEDERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
to the world’s parliaments and international
parliamentary organizations
in connection with the ongoing shelling of the Zaporozhye
nuclear power plant
The Kiev regime continues its flagrant and irresponsible provocations by shelling the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant (ZNPP), threatening its safe operation and increasing the risk of a man-made disaster, the consequences of which are impossible to predict. If the shelling continues, there could be a danger of widespread radioactive contamination, affecting not only Russian and Ukrainian territory, but also that of neighbouring European countries.
Ukraine's actions with regard to the ZNPP cannot be described otherwise than as nuclear terrorism causing destruction and death.
There has yet been no proper response to repeated statements made by representatives of the Russian Federation at the UN Security Council, the policy-making bodies of the IAEA, and other major international fora regarding the destructive activities, which threaten all humanity and are being carried out by armed Ukrainian neo-Nazis and foreign mercenaries against the ZNPP.
The Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation demands that Ukraine’s military and political leadership immediately cease any attacks against the ZNPP and related critical infrastructure.
The Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation calls upon the world’s parliaments and international parliamentary organizations to condemn the policy of the Kiev authorities and demand an end to the aggressive actions that threaten the safety and security of Europe’s largest nuclear plant.
