Eurasian Women's Forum presented a stand at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum for the first time

The forum held an off-site session on the sidelines of SPIEF 2022, with the participation of Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko.

This was the first time that the Eurasian Women's Forum under the Federation Council presented a stand at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The forum off-site session attended by Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko was also held on the sidelines of St Petersburg International Economic Forum 2022.

According to the Speaker, it has become a good tradition to include events dedicated to women's participation in economic development in the St Petersburg Forum's agenda. She stressed the authority and importance of events held by the Federation Council to promote women's agenda. “Despite the difficult current conditions and the utmost sanctions pressure, cooperation between women and foreign partners continues, including within the framework of the most important international organizations, such as UNIDO, BRICS, the Women 20 and APEC.”

Valentina Matvienko stressed that at the stand they had two-day teleconferences with foreign partners, including many fruitful discussions on the participation of women in various spheres – small and medium business, high-tech and agriculture.

As part of the forum’s off-site session, the Federation Council signed cooperation agreements with VK, Rosatom State Corporation, the Russian Export Centre, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

Deputy Speaker Galina Karelova noted that the 3rd Eurasian Women's Forum will be remembered for a long time due to the special energy of participants and the friendly atmosphere that became the hallmark of the event. She stressed that the Forum Council had planned its activities on the sidelines of SPIEF with the same spirit.

“Despite the fact that the 3rd Eurasian Women's Forum finished back in October, its participants did not stop working for a minute. It is the continuous complex activity for the implementation of multilateral global projects that is the key feature of the forum. We are also grateful to our partners for the cooperation, which continued against the backdrop of the pandemic and the changed situation in international relations,” the Senator said.

Galina Karelova said the book The 3rd Eurasian Women's Forum. A History in Persons was a wonderful memento for all participants, which will once again allow them to experience wonderful emotions and to get a charge of its positive energy to strive for new achievements. The publication makes use of modern technology that allow its readers to hear remarks of Forum participants.
