The officials discussed inter-parliamentary cooperation both bilaterally and on international platforms.
Mohmad Akhmadov, Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy and Head of the Group for Cooperation between the Federation Council and the State Council of the Sultanate of Oman, met with Hamood bin Salim bin Abdullah Al Towaiya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Oman to the Russian Federation.
The sides reviewed the Omani delegation's participation at the 10th Nevsky International Environmental Congress in St Petersburg. They also discussed Russian representation at the forthcoming EduTraC Oman International Higher Education Exhibition to be held in Oman on 22–24 October 2023.
They discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral events, including the planned visit of a delegation from the Council of State of the Council of Oman led by its Chairman Abdul Malik bin Abdullah Al Khalili to the Russian Federation.
The sides also touched on the joint meeting of the parliamentary Friendship Groups of the Council of the Federation and the State Council of the Sultanate of Oman held in Muscat.
They also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and discussed current issues on the international agenda.
